Why is pool water different colors? Tipton Pool builders explain
When you’re sitting in your pool builders showroom, looking through a porfolio of completed pool projects you may wonder, why is pool water different colors? The answer is simple… and complex the pool contractors from Tipton Pools in Knoxville, Tennessee explain. There are many reasons that not all pool water looks the same from pool to pool — in fact, pool water may not look the same from one end of your pool to the other!
Why is pool water different colors?
- The pool finish you choose will help determine the color of the pool water.
- The depth of your pool is a determining factor of the color of your pool; it may look different from the shallow end to the deep end.
- On a bright, sunny day your water may look like a different color than on an overcast day. The sun will bring out the color of the water and the reflection of the sun on the water’s surface will add to its brilliance.
- The landscaping around the swimming pool itself will add to the color of the pool water. If your house is mirrored in the pool, the water will pick up the color. If your pool is surrounded by foilage, a pool house, the pool fence or other landscaping, it will cast a different color on the water and give it a different hue.
- If you want to change the color of your pool water, ask us about adding accent stones or glass-colored beads to give impact to the color of the pool water.
Keep in mind that when you’re looking at photographs of swimming pools, the color could be enhanced to make it look more inviting. That is not to say that the color of your pool water can’t, and won’t be, brilliant and beautiful — ask us how!
